However, the degree of impact each type of feedback has on language learning remains inconsistent across different contexts. There is also a gap in understanding how learners perceive these feedback types and the reasons behind their preferences, particularly in the Chinese EFL context, where a strong focus on grammatical accuracy might influence learners' preferences and the effectiveness of feedback. 

This study addresses these gaps by examining the impact of these OCF types on learners' language accuracy and exploring which feedback types learners prefer and why. In doing so, the study aims to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of how different feedback strategies influence both learner outcomes and preferences in the Chinese EFL context.
