AskSia Library Community Guidelines

Last updated — March 31, 2026

Welcome to AskSia Library

AskSia Library is a community space where learners can share their study sessions with others. We believe in the power of collaborative learning, and we want Library to be a place where knowledge is shared responsibly and ethically.

By sharing content in Library, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines in addition to our Terms of Use and Copyright Policy.

What You CAN Share

AskSia Library is designed for sharing original, user-created study content. You are encouraged to share:

Your own notes and summaries that you have written in your own words

Your own study guides and flashcards that you have created

Your own problem-solving sessions where you have worked through problems using AskSia as a learning tool

Your own explanations and analyses of concepts, topics, and ideas

Original study materials that you have created from scratch

Content for which you hold the copyright or have been given explicit written permission by the copyright holder to share

What You CANNOT Share

The following types of content are strictly prohibited in AskSia Library:

Copyrighted Educational Materials:

Textbook content: Pages, chapters, excerpts, or solutions from textbooks, ebooks, or solutions manuals

Instructor resources: Teacher's editions, test banks, answer keys, grading rubrics, or instructor guides

Course materials created by others: Syllabi, assignments, worksheets, handouts, or presentations created by your instructor or institution, unless you have written permission from the copyright holder

Examination materials: Exams, quizzes, midterms, finals, or assessment questions created by your instructor or institution

Recordings:

Lecture recordings: Audio or video recordings of classes, lectures, seminars, tutorials, or office hours, unless you have explicit written permission from all speakers and rights holders

Third-party media: Copyrighted audio, video, images, or other media for which you do not hold the rights

Other Prohibited Content:

Content that facilitates academic dishonesty: Materials shared with the purpose of enabling cheating, plagiarism, or other violations of academic integrity

Content with altered or removed copyright information: Materials where the author's name, copyright notice, or other identifying information has been removed, altered, or obscured

Content obtained through unauthorized access: Materials accessed through breach of a paywall, DRM circumvention, or unauthorized login credentials

Content that violates any agreement you have signed, including academic honor codes, NDAs, or institutional policies

How We Enforce These Guidelines

Strike System: AskSia uses a strike system to enforce copyright compliance. If content you shared is identified as infringing and is removed pursuant to a valid takedown notice or our internal review:

1st Strike: Infringing content is removed. You receive a formal warning by email explaining the violation.

2nd Strike: Infringing content is removed. You receive a second warning. Your ability to share new content in Library may be temporarily suspended.

3rd Strike: Your account is terminated. You are permanently banned from AskSia.

Strikes are counted on a rolling 12-month basis. A strike that is more than 12 months old will no longer count toward the threshold, but a record of the violation is retained permanently.

Immediate Termination: AskSia reserves the right to terminate your account immediately and without prior strikes or warnings if:

You upload a large volume of clearly infringing material

You engage in a pattern of behavior designed to circumvent our enforcement measures (e.g., creating multiple accounts)

You remove or alter copyright management information from content

Your actions expose AskSia to significant legal risk

Appealing a Strike or Removal: If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may:

1.

File a DMCA Counter-Notice as described in our Copyright Policy

2.

Contact our support team at copyright@asksia.ai with a detailed explanation of why you believe the removal was in error

We will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Your Responsibilities

When you share content in AskSia Library, you are confirming that:

1.

You own the content or have all necessary permissions to share it

2.

The content does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property rights

3.

You have not removed or altered any copyright information from the content

4.

Sharing the content does not violate any agreement you have made, including with your educational institution

5.

You accept responsibility for the content you share and agree to indemnify AskSia against any claims arising from your content

Reporting a Violation

If you find content in AskSia Library that you believe violates these guidelines or infringes your copyright:

Copyright holders: Please submit a DMCA Takedown Notice as described in our Copyright Policy

Users: Please report the content using the “Report” button on the session page, or email copyright@asksia.ai

We take all reports seriously and aim to review and act on valid reports promptly.

A Note on Academic Integrity

AskSia is designed to be your learning co-pilot — a tool to help you understand concepts, develop skills, and improve your academic performance. AskSia Library is meant to support genuine learning through the sharing of original study materials.

AskSia Library should never be used to:

Obtain answers to active exams or assessments

Share or access materials that would give an unfair academic advantage

Circumvent the learning process

We encourage all users to use AskSia and Library responsibly and ethically.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated guidelines on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of AskSia Library after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised guidelines.
