Research and research methods are essential in ensuring that a research is
materialized into a substantial contributions. There is of utmost importance of the
finding of research problems and deriving the complementary solutions to solve these
problems. There are many phases in a research and a wide spectrum of research
outputs. Prepare a research proposal that has the following elements : (a) Analyze the
strategy to select a research area (10 marks), (b) differentiate the Scopus / Web of
Science (WOS) and a non-Scopus journal publication as a basis of a reference work.
Include two articles from both these categories and make a comparison of the
research quality and respective findings; (c) analyze the related work in both of these
papers and the type of references used and referred to ; (d) Differentiate the
experimentations that have been done ; (e) the impact of each of these papers by
critically analyzing the citations.

To prepare a research proposal with the specified elements, follow the structure below:
Research Proposal Structure
Identify your interests and strengths: Choose a research area that aligns with your personal interests and academic strengths
Review current trends: Look at recent publications, conferences, and workshops to identify trending topics in your field
Consult with advisors and peers: Seek advice from your academic advisors and peers to get insights into potential research areas
Evaluate the scope and impact: Consider the potential impact and scope of the research area. Ensure it has enough depth for a substantial contribution
Assess available resources: Ensure you have access to the necessary resources, such as data, tools, and funding, to conduct research in the chosen area

 (b) Differentiate the Scopus / Web of Science (WOS) and a non-Scopus journal publication as a basis of a reference work
Scopus/WOS Journals: These journals are indexed in reputable databases, ensuring a rigorous peer-review process and higher visibility
Non-Scopus Journals: These journals may not have the same level of peer-review rigor and visibility, potentially affecting the perceived quality of the research
Article Comparison: Select two articles from Scopus/WOS and two from non-Scopus journals. Compare their research quality, methodology, and findings

 (c) Analyze the related work in both of these papers and the type of references used and referred to
Related Work Analysis: Examine the literature review section of each paper to understand how they position their work within the existing body of knowledge
Type of References: Identify the types of references used (e.g., journal articles, conference papers, books) and their relevance to the research topic
Citation Quality: Assess the quality and recency of the references cited in each paper

 (d) Differentiate the experimentations that have been done
Experimental Design: Compare the experimental designs used in the papers, including sample size, variables, and controls
Data Collection: Analyze the methods of data collection and the tools used in each paper
Results Analysis: Evaluate the techniques used for data analysis and the robustness of the results

 (e) The impact of each of these papers by critically analyzing the citations
Citation Analysis: Use citation databases to determine the number of citations each paper has received
Impact Assessment: Critically analyze the impact of the papers based on their citation count, the quality of citing papers, and the context in which they are cited
Contribution to Field: Assess how each paper has contributed to advancing knowledge in the research area
This structure will help you create a comprehensive research proposal that addresses all the required elements.
