The subject outline for the session each guide names. Charles Sturt's Subject Outlines Policy requires the outline to identify any hurdle task and the mark needed to pass the subject, so the outline is the document our tables are checked against.
An assessment you must pass, or reach a specified result in, to pass the subject. The outline must say which task is the hurdle and the mark required, and hurdles are typically used for safety procedures or essential practical skills. Guides mark those items.
Charles Sturt sessions are 16 weeks long and include a two week mid session break and an end of session exam period; there is no separately named study week. Guides that cover an exam say which items sit in the end of session period.
GPA equals the sum of each subject's point value times the numeric value of its grade, divided by the sum of the point values, to two decimal places with a maximum of 7. All attempts at a subject, including fails, count. A High Distinction is 85 to 100 in a subject.
