The unit guide for the session each guide names. Every Macquarie coursework unit must have its own guide, and hurdle assessments must be specified there along with the performance required, so the unit guide is the reference for our tables.
A student with a raw mark above 50 who fails every attempt at a hurdle assessment fails the unit. After a serious first attempt you must be offered one further opportunity to meet the hurdle. Our tables mark hurdle rows so you can see which tasks carry this condition.
Formal end of session exams take place directly after the final week of classes rather than after a named study week; the Session 2 2026 exam period runs 9 to 27 November, and exams in June and November can be scheduled Monday to Saturday. Guides say which tasks fall in that period.
Since 2020 Macquarie reports a Weighted Average Mark instead of a GPA. It averages your actual marks out of 100 across all units, weighted by credit points, and it includes failed marks rather than counting them as zero. A High Distinction is 85 to 100 in a unit.
