Which RMIT document sets the weights shown here?
The course guide for the offering each guide names. RMIT requires course guides to state the weighting of every assessment task and any hurdle requirement and to explain how each task relates to the learning outcomes, so the guide is what our tables are checked against.
Does RMIT use hurdle assessments?
Only where safety, professional accreditation, registration or licensing requires them, and they must be clearly identified in the course guide. A student who fails a hurdle assessment fails the course regardless of the overall mark, which is why our tables mark those rows separately.
What is SWOTVAC at RMIT?
SWOTVAC is the study week without classes before the exam period. RMIT's learning resources use it as the time to consolidate rather than cram, and guides that cover a final exam say which components fall in the exam period that follows.
How are GPA and WAM calculated at RMIT?
RMIT reports both. The GPA uses a four point scale, weighting each grade's point value by credit points and rounding to one decimal place, and can be cumulative or per term. The WAM averages actual marks weighted by credit points under its own procedure. A High Distinction is 80 to 100 in a course.
Is this an RMIT publication?
No. AskSia is not affiliated with RMIT University. The guides are independent study aids written from each course's published materials, and every assessment figure carries the offering it was taken from.
