What is the source for the weights on these Adelaide pages?
The course outline for the offering each guide names. Adelaide's assessment policy requires outlines to publish hurdle requirements and the threshold mark needed, so the outline is the reference for both the weights and the hurdle rows in our tables. Confirm your own offering on MyUni before exams.
How do hurdle requirements work at Adelaide?
A hurdle mandates a minimum performance on a task as a condition of passing the course. Policy caps them: no more than three hurdle tasks per course, none on a task worth less than 20 per cent, and the hurdle tasks together cannot exceed 60 per cent of the course, except in clinical practice. The outline must state the threshold mark.
What is SWOT Week and when are exams?
SWOT Week, Study Without Teaching, is the week set aside immediately before the end of semester examinations, so the exam period begins as SWOT Week ends. Personalised exam timetables appear in the Student Portal on the date shown in the academic calendar.
How is a GPA or WAM calculated at Adelaide?
Both are weighted by course units: each grade's point value, or each mark, is multiplied by the units for the course, summed across completed graded courses in the program, and divided by the total units. Non graded courses are excluded, and the published figure is truncated to two decimal places.
Is AskSia part of Adelaide University?
No. AskSia is not affiliated with Adelaide University. The guides are independent study materials written from each course's published information, and every assessment figure is tagged with the offering it was taken from.
