APG5434 Chap.14 Group Report and Seven-Minute Presentation Playbook
Group Report and Seven-Minute Presentation Playbook
The current unit assessment page lists a group presentation and a group report as separate deliverables within the four listed assessment tasks. The presentation page also specifies its uploaded file, delivery and question period; the report page specifies its written submission.
Treat the current Moodle and unit assessment pages as authoritative for operational details.
The group presentation carries 10%, with its PDF due 16 October 2026, delivery on 19 October 2026, and a maximum of 7 minutes plus 1.5 minutes for questions. The group report carries 20%, is 5,000 words and is due 21 October 2026.
The report can preserve methods, competing evidence, boundary detail and implementation logic.
The presentation must create a decision path that listeners can follow once. Shared analysis is efficient; identical structure is not. Design both from a common thesis and evidence register.
Translate every instruction into an owner, evidence item, format check and verification step. Include filenames, upload expectations and current unit guidance.
Record the source of each requirement so a remembered older version cannot override the active page.
Set internal points for question lock, evidence freeze, outline challenge, full draft, slide rehearsal and release. Leave space between them for rework.
A timetable that allocates only first-draft production treats synthesis and quality assurance as optional.
Store source, page, claim, method, boundary, limitation and intended report or slide use. This prevents citation drift between products.
A slide headline should never become stronger than the evidence recorded for the report simply because space is limited.
Name who confirms the report file, presentation PDF, references and uploaded versions. Every member still reviews substantive accuracy.
A single release owner reduces accidental version mismatch without turning that person into the sole quality controller.
A productive team does not depend on goodwill alone. It establishes how work is assigned, decisions are made, sources are recorded and concerns are escalated.
The agreement should support shared authorship and accountability while leaving an evidence trail of participation and review.
The current assessment material describes the collaborator agreement as a process gate connected to report marking, not as a separate weighted assessment task.
Complete and retain it according to current instructions, and confirm its pass-condition implications on Moodle.
Use roles such as scope coordinator, evidence steward, synthesis lead, visual editor and release controller. These are responsibilities, not exclusive writing territories.
Each section needs another member's challenge so the report has a shared argument rather than stitched voices.
Agree which decisions need consensus, which can be delegated and how unresolved disagreement is recorded. Majority preference should not override a source problem or integrity concern. Set an escalation route and a point at which the team seeks authoritative clarification.

Group Report and Seven-Minute Presentation Playbook FAQ
What does claim contract mean in this chapter?
A section-level record of the claim, evidence, criterion, thesis relationship and handoff.
What does evidence register mean in this chapter?
A shared record of source provenance, claim fit, method, boundary, limitation and intended use.
What does synthesis owner mean in this chapter?
The team role coordinating coherence across independently researched evidence and sections.
What does release owner mean in this chapter?
The person accountable for confirming that the approved artifact is the version submitted.
What does decision path mean in this chapter?
A presentation sequence moving from material problem through evidence and thesis to action and limitation.
What does question bank mean in this chapter?
A set of anticipated challenges about boundary, evidence, feasibility, alternatives and stakeholder effect.
What is the nearest mistake to avoid?
Do not use Group Report and Seven-Minute Presentation Playbook as a label detached from boundary, evidence and decision consequence. Explain the mechanism and state what could change the judgement.
Are this chapter's points official Monash marks?
No. They are independently authored AskSia planning labels, not official questions, answers, criteria, rubrics or marking schemes.
How should this chapter support assessed work?
Confirm the active Moodle task, use case-specific sources and apply Deliverable control only where it strengthens the student's or group's own analysis and authorship.
Assessment move
Agree the question, boundary, criteria and evidence schema before dividing research. Allocate accountable processes rather than isolated writing fragments, and require cross-review of reasoning. Keep current unit requirements and the collaborator process in a separate control ledger.
For the report, integrate definitions, warrants and recommendations across sections.
For the presentation, select the minimum evidence needed for a decision path and prepare a question bank from the analysis's weak points. Complete a content freeze, artifact inspection, second-person upload check and retained receipt.
