From the offering each guide names at the top of the page, checked against the unit's entry in the Monash Handbook, which lists the assessment items for each campus and semester. Topics and worked examples carry across offerings; weights differ between campuses and semesters for some units, so confirm yours on Moodle.
A hurdle is a requirement you must meet on its own to pass the unit. If you do not meet it but would otherwise have scored 45 or above, the result is recorded as NH, Hurdle Fail, and a mark of 45 goes on your transcript instead of your actual mark. Each guide names the hurdle components for the offering it was built from; confirm yours in the Handbook entry for your semester and campus.
Swot vac (Study Without Teaching Vacation, also written SWOTVAC) is the class free week between the last teaching week and the start of the final assessment period, set aside for you to review and prepare. The exam period follows it. Each guide that covers a final assessment says which components sit in that period and which are due during teaching weeks.
Your Weighted Average Mark is weighted by credit points and by year level: every first year unit counts at 0.5, every other unit at 1.0, whenever you take it. Failed and repeated units are included, and the result is calculated to three decimal places. A High Distinction is 80 to 100 in a unit, so the guides order revision by the components that carry the most marks.
No. AskSia is not affiliated with Monash University. Each guide is written independently by AskSia from the unit's published materials, and every assessment figure names the offering it came from so you can check it against the Handbook.
Monash no longer keeps past final assessment papers in the Library; the University prefers practice assessments designed by the lecturer for each unit, so ask your lecturer what is available. AskSia guides do not host exam papers. What they give you instead is the exam format for each unit, broken down by question type, next to the assessment table it belongs to, plus a worked example marked step by step.
