Personal AI Japanese Tutor Online That Teaches You How to Use It

Write the sentence and the tutor asks what you are marking as known information before it touches the particle. Wa against ga cannot be translated into English, so it has to be taught as a choice rather than corrected as an error.

What is the AskSia AI Japanese tutor?

The AskSia AI Japanese tutor is a personal tutoring tool that explains why a particle or verb form is required rather than translating around it. It opens with a question about what you are treating as known information, shows the contrast with a minimal pair when you ask, closes by asking you to build the next sentence, and builds quizzes weighted toward the structures you keep avoiding. You can write a sentence, photograph a textbook page or a handwritten exercise, upload course slides or pull an assignment from your LMS. It covers kana, particles, verb groups and the te form, plain and polite registers, counters, keigo, kanji readings and the conditional forms, and it can explain in eight languages including your first. Students on the AskSia A+ plan are additionally covered by the Grade Confidence Guarantee. AskSia is a study aid, not an answer key.

分数为何流失

每学期最容易失分的三种习惯

Japanese grades stall in three predictable places, and none of them are vocabulary size. Your tutor watches for these in your own writing.

01

Choosing wa or ga by translation

English has no equivalent, so translating the sentence gives no signal at all. The tutor asks what is already known to the listener, which is the distinction the particle actually encodes.

02

Learning kanji readings in isolation

A reading memorised alone does not survive contact with a compound. The tutor introduces each kanji inside two or three words you will actually meet, which is how the readings become predictable.

03

Ignoring transitive and intransitive pairs

Using the wrong member of a pair changes who did the action, which is a meaning error rather than a style error. The tutor asks whether anyone caused the event before accepting the verb.

练习与追踪

不是题库,而是从你的错误中生成的测验

Your marks are not lost evenly, so your practice is not spread evenly. Try this one.

从你的薄弱知识点开始PARTICLES
Which particle completes the sentence: 部屋_入る (to enter the room)?
这个答案的原因。 Why B. 入る takes に because the room is the destination the movement arrives at, not the object being acted on. The trap is that English says enter the room with no preposition, which makes を look like the direct object marker it would be for a transitive verb.
长答题按每一步的推理过程评分,而不只看最终数值。

这是辅导,不只是聊天框

Four things a language tutor does that a chat box does not

Why translation cannot teach Japanese grammar

The particles that decide a Japanese grade have no English counterpart, so a translation based explanation always arrives one step short. The tutor asks what you are marking as known before it names the particle, and shows the same sentence both ways so the difference becomes something you can hear rather than a rule you memorised.

Personal here means it remembers which structure you steer around. Avoidance never shows up in a corrected text and always shows up in a record of what you never attempt, so the tutor sets tasks that require the te form or a conditional rather than waiting for you to try one. Connect your LMS once and it follows your textbook's order and vocabulary, which matters when Genki, Minna no Nihongo and Tobira introduce the same grammar in different sequences.

It can explain in English, German, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese while keeping the practice in Japanese, so the explanation never becomes the hard part.

常见问题

学生真正会问的问题

Does it just correct my Japanese?

No. It asks what you meant, then shows the contrast that makes the choice visible, usually as the same sentence with the other particle. Each exchange ends by asking you to build the next sentence. You can request a straight correction at any point, but it will not lead with one.

Can it explain grammar in my first language?

Yes. Explanations can be in English, German, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese while the practice stays in Japanese, which keeps the difficulty in the Japanese.

Can it read handwritten Japanese?

Yes. Photograph the page, including your crossings out, and it reads the handwriting as written. This is the most common way students ask about a marked exercise.

Does it follow my textbook?

It does once your material is connected. Genki, Minna no Nihongo and Tobira introduce the same grammar in different orders, and being taught a form your class has not reached is not helpful.

Does it cover JLPT preparation?

Yes. The N5 to N3 grammar is covered in full, and quizzes can be weighted toward the level you are sitting rather than spread across the syllabus.

Is using an AI Japanese tutor allowed?

AskSia is built as a study aid, not an answer key. Using it to understand a particle, check your own writing, or generate extra practice sits in the same category as a language tutorial. Assessment rules differ, and language courses are often strict about assisted writing, so check your own faculty's AI policy before using any tool on graded work.
