The AskSia mobile app (iOS & Android)
The AskSia mobile app puts Sia in your pocket, and two things make it shine on a phone: your camera and your microphone. Snap a photo of a problem and get an explanation on the spot, or record a whole lecture live and ask questions while it's still running. It's light and simple, with essentially the same core as the web app — built so you can study anywhere.
Snap a photo, get an instant explanation
Point your camera at a tricky problem, a page of your textbook, or a slide on the board, and take a photo. Sia reads it and walks you through it right away — a step-by-step explanation, not just an answer. It's the fastest way to get unstuck when your laptop isn't open.
Record the lecture, ask while it's recording
Hit record at the start of class and let your phone capture the whole session:
- You get a live transcript with speaker labels, so you can tell who said what.
- You can ask Sia questions while you're still recording — clear up a confusing point without missing the next one.
- When class ends, that recording turns into a clean Sia Note you can review and study from.
The same core as the web app
Beyond the camera and the mic, the mobile app carries the AskSia studio you already know, trimmed down for a smaller screen and quick sessions. Snap or pull in a file, and one tap turns it into:
- A Summary of the material
- A clean, structured Sia Note
- A Quiz to test yourself
- Flashcards for quick review
You can also chat with your own materials to ask questions and work through what you're studying.
One app across your devices
The mobile app runs on:
- iPhone (iOS)
- Android phones
- iPad
It's the same account and the same subscription you use everywhere else in AskSia — sign in once and your files, chats, and progress are right there.
How to get it
- Download AskSia from the App Store (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and sign in with your existing AskSia account.
- That's it — your subscription and your materials carry over automatically.
When to reach for a bigger surface
The mobile app is built for studying on the move, but a couple of jobs are better on a larger tool:
- Want your LMS course content — courses, syllabi, recorded lectures, materials — inside AskSia? Use the Chrome extension, which syncs it in one click instead of hand-uploading.
- Need to process a .zip archive or a heavier format, or run standardized-test mock exams and study planning? Those live in the desktop agent (Mac and Windows), the power tool that reads almost any file. Not sure which fits? See Which AskSia should I use?
