Install the Chrome Extension

The AskSia Chrome Extension is the fastest way to study with us, because it lives inside the LMS where you already spend your time. Open a lecture, open AskSia. No tab-switching, no copy-pasting slides into a chat window.

Install in 60 seconds

1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for AskSia, or go directly to asksia.ai and click Add to Chrome from the top nav.
2. Hit Add to Chrome, then Add extension in the confirmation popup.
3. Pin the extension to your toolbar so the AskSia icon is always one click away.
4. Click the icon and sign in with the same account you use on the web app.

What it can and can't see

This matters, so we'll be direct. The extension is read-only against your LMS. It reads the page you have open — the lecture, the syllabus, the assignment prompt — so AskSia can help you study that material. It does not have access to other tabs, your browser history, or anything outside the LMS domain you're on.

It never sees your LMS password. You stay logged into Canvas (or Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, Everytime, echo360, CyberCampus) the way you always have. The extension simply rides along on the page you're already viewing.

How it embeds

Once installed, you'll see a small AskSia panel inside your LMS pages. Highlight a paragraph and ask the tutor to explain it. Open a lecture recording and ask for a 5-bullet recap. Pull up a problem set and ask for a hint — not the answer, a hint that teaches you the next step.

Permissions, plainly

• Active tab + scripting — so the panel can appear on LMS pages.
• Storage — so you stay signed in.
• No bookmarks, no downloads, no other-tab access.
