Using the AI Detector
The AskSia AI Detector is built for one specific use: you've written something yourself, and before you submit it, you want to know how it'll look to an AI detector your school might run. That's it. The honest path is to write it yourself, then check.
How to run a check
- Open the AI Detector tool.
- Paste your full draft — the whole thing, not a paragraph. Detectors weight short samples wildly.
- Click Analyze.
- Read the section-by-section breakdown, not just the headline score.
What the score actually means
A percentage is not a verdict. It's a probability estimate from a model that has its own biases. A score of 65% AI-likelihood doesn't mean 65% of your essay was written by AI. It means the model finds 65% of your phrasing statistically consistent with how AI-written text tends to look.
False positives are real
If you write cleanly and in short sentences, you'll sometimes get flagged. Non-native English writers tend to flag higher because polished simple English looks "AI-shaped" to these models. Writers with formal academic training get flagged too.
We don't pretend the detector is perfect. We show you the breakdown so you can see which sentences flag — usually the most generic ones. Rewriting two or three in your own voice almost always brings the score down.
What we won't help you do
The detector is not a way to "launder" AI-written text past a teacher. We don't suggest edits designed to evade detection. We tell you what the model thinks; we leave the integrity choice to you.
The honest workflow
- Write the draft yourself, in your voice.
- Run the detector. Read the flagged sentences.
- Rewrite the flagged sentences if they don't sound like you. Leave them if they do.
- Submit with confidence — not because you tricked a detector, but because the work is yours.
