At Australian universities, Science is typically housed in a Faculty (or School) of Science and spans the natural and mathematical sciences: biology and the biosciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics and statistics, the earth and environmental sciences, agricultural and food science, and psychology. Science graduates in Australia move into research, laboratory, analytical and applied roles across many sectors. Biology and bioscience graduates work as biologists, microbiologists, laboratory scientists and environmental or agricultural scientists (ANZSCO Life Scientists and Agricultural & Forestry Scientists). Mathematics and statistics graduates become statisticians, data analysts, actuaries and quantitative analysts; accredited statisticians can seek the Statistical Society of Australia's Accredited Statistician (AStat) credential.
