How to request a refund
There are two completely separate refund paths at AskSia, and it helps to know which one you're asking about before you reach out. Part 1 covers everyday billing — standard refunds on a subscription charge. Part 2 covers the A+ Grade Confidence Guarantee, a separate, grade-based program for A+ subscribers. They are different things, with different rules and different email addresses — and even though both happen to mention “50%,” they are not the same offer. Read the part that matches your situation.
Part 1 — Standard refunds
Here's the honest default: we don't refund past charges. When you pay for a subscription, your access runs to the end of the period you paid for — so the money you've already paid covers the time you're using. That said, there are two specific exceptions, and both are handled by email to contact@asksia.ai.
Exception 1: you subscribed but haven't used AskSia
If you were charged for a subscription and haven't actually used AskSia, email us and you can request a 50% refund. A short note is all we need — see the template below.
Exception 2: you're on an annual plan
If you're on an annual plan, the unused, remaining portion of your subscription can be returned to your AskSia account as credit. This is what the “30-day money-back” refers to: it's account credit you can keep using toward AskSia — not a cash refund, and not something you can withdraw or cash out. For the step-by-step on cancelling and how the credit works, see How to cancel your subscription.
Charges made through the App Store or Google Play
If you subscribed inside the app on iPhone, iPad, or Android, that payment went to Apple or Google — not to us — so those charges are refunded by Apple or Google, not by AskSia. You'll request the refund through them:
- Apple (App Store): go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find AskSia, and request a refund.
- Google Play: open the Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, find the AskSia order, and request a refund.
A short email template
For the two exceptions above, just email contact@asksia.ai. You can keep it short:
- Subject: Refund Request — [your account email]
- Body: Include your account email and roughly when you were charged. If you haven't used AskSia, say so and mention you'd like the 50% refund; if you're on an annual plan, let us know you'd like the remaining portion as account credit.
Part 2 — The A+ Grade Confidence Guarantee
This is a completely separate program from everything in Part 1. The A+ Grade Confidence Guarantee is a grade-based promise for A+ Plan subscribers: if you meet the usage rules across the full term and still fall short on your grades, it can refund 50–100% of your A+ subscription. It's about your grades over a semester — not about an unused or accidental charge.
So, to keep the two “50%”s straight: the 50% in Part 1 is for a subscription you paid for but didn't use. The 50–100% here is only for A+ subscribers who met the usage requirements and didn't reach their grade target. They are different programs — don't confuse the two.
Grade Guarantee claims go to a different inbox: email guarantee@asksia.ai within 14 days of your grade release, with your official final grade. For who qualifies, the exact usage rules, and the full terms, see The Grade Confidence Guarantee, explained.
