How to cancel your subscription
Cancelling AskSia is genuinely easy: it's one click, anytime — no retention flow, no survey, no “are you sure?” wall, and no support ticket to file. There's a real Cancel subscription button, the whole thing takes about 15 seconds, and you stay in control the entire way. Here's exactly where it is and what happens after you click it.
Cancel on the web (~15 seconds)
If you subscribed on the AskSia website, you cancel right inside your account:
- Click your profile avatar in the bottom-left of the sidebar.
- Choose Manage plan.
- On the plans page, click Manage my plan — it shows under the tier you're currently on.
- The billing portal opens. Click Cancel subscription.
That's it. You'll see a confirmation screen right away and get an emailed receipt for your records. Nobody tries to talk you out of it along the way. (While you're in that same billing portal, you can also update your payment method if your card has changed — see Why was I charged? Auto-renewal, explained.)
Cancel an App Store (iOS) subscription
If you subscribed through the App Store on iPhone or iPad, Apple handles that billing — so the cancel button lives in your device settings, not on our website. It's still quick:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap AskSia, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel a Google Play (Android) subscription
If you subscribed through Google Play on Android, Google manages that billing, so you cancel in the Play Store:
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Tap AskSia, then Cancel subscription.
What happens after you cancel
Cancelling doesn't cut you off the moment you click — it takes effect at the end of your current billing period, not immediately. In the meantime:
- You keep full access to everything you've paid for until that period ends.
- Your data is preserved — your files, chats, notes, and progress all stay put.
- When the period ends, nothing renews and you simply drop to the Free tier.
So there's no rush and no penalty for cancelling early in a period — you'll just use up the time you already paid for.
Want your money back too?
Cancelling and refunding are two separate things. Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn't automatically refund a charge that already landed. If you want money back on a past charge, see How to request a refund for who qualifies and exactly what to send. (One more thing to keep separate: the A+ Grade Confidence Guarantee is a different program entirely — a grade-based promise for A+ subscribers, not a standard refund. If that's what you're after, see The Grade Confidence Guarantee, explained.)
Is there a way to pause instead?
AskSia doesn't offer a separate pause option. The closest thing is simply cancelling: you keep full access through the end of the period you've already paid for, and after that nothing renews — you stay on Free with your data intact, ready to upgrade again whenever you like. If a true pause would genuinely help your situation, email contact@asksia.ai and we'll see what we can do.
