Who sets the assessment for a module at SIM?
The awarding university. In the University of London programmes, assessment is made up of examinations, multiple choice tests or coursework set by the University, and the pass mark for any element is 40 per cent. Guides name the programme each module belongs to.
Do I need to meet conditions before I can sit an exam?
Yes. Attendance and coursework are part of the University's requirements to sit the examinations, and SIM requires a minimum of 90 per cent class attendance. Guides flag modules where coursework is a condition rather than a weighted component.
When are exams held at SIM?
University of London examinations sit every May and June, with resits in October and November, and some programmes allow up to three attempts at a paper before classification. SIM's calendar also lists sittings for its other partner programmes across the year.
How are SIM diploma modules graded?
For SIM awarded diplomas, a module is passed by achieving an overall minimum GPA of 1.0, grade D. Degree modules follow the partner university's grading rather than a single SIM scale, which is why these guides do not quote one top grade for every module.
Is AskSia part of SIM?
No. AskSia is independent of SIM Global Education and of its partner universities. Guides are written by AskSia from published programme information, and every figure names the programme and sitting it refers to.
