AskSia for Echo360 is a browser extension that adds a Sync to AskSia button to every lecture recording in an Echo360 or EchoVideo Class List. One click brings the lecture's transcript and slide timings into your AskSia library in 10 to 30 seconds, and Sia returns a Sia Note: a timestamped lecture arc, key concepts ranked by how much the lecturer emphasised them, the exam traps they flagged and the questions asked in class. It is read-only, so nothing is written back to Echo360 and your university password is never shared. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons. On your university's Echo360 or EchoVideo page, open a course Class List. Some universities give the service a local name, such as Learning Capture at Monash. The extension adds a purple Sync to AskSia button to every recording. No menus, no settings.

Yes. Many universities give Echo360 (EchoVideo) a local name. Monash, for example, calls it Learning Capture and opens it from Moodle. If your recording opens in an Echo360 or EchoVideo player, the Sync button works the same way.
No. The extension is read-only. It uses the browser session you are already logged into, reads only recordings you are permitted to view, and writes nothing back to Echo360 or your LMS. AskSia never sees your university password.
The Study Guide in Echo360 collects the notes and bookmarks you make yourself. AskSia generates the whole Sia Note for you: the lecture arc, key concepts with timestamps, exam traps, flashcards and practice questions.
Most Echo360 recordings carry automatic captions, but they can take time to process and some lecturers switch them off. If a recording has none, you can play it in your browser and let AskSia Transcribe turn the tab audio into a transcript as it plays, then build the Sia Note from that.
Reviewing lecture recordings you already have access to, for your own study, is what they are published for. Two rules matter. Lecture recordings belong to your university and your lecturers, so keep synced material for personal study and do not share recordings, transcripts or notes publicly. And AI policies differ between institutions and courses, so follow your institution's academic integrity policy and check your unit outline if you are unsure.
