Delete my account
Deleting your AskSia account should take less time than signing up. It does. Two clicks, one confirmation, and you're done.
How to delete
- Sign into asksia.ai.
- Open Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Read the on-screen summary of what gets removed.
- Click Confirm deletion.
You'll receive an email confirming the deletion request was received. After that, you're logged out and your account is marked for removal.
The 30-day grace period
Your data is held for 30 days in a recoverable state. If you change your mind — students do, especially the week after finals — sign back in within those 30 days and click Restore account. Everything comes back exactly as it was: cheat sheets, tutor history, library packs, recall scores.
After 30 days, deletion is permanent. We can't recover the data after that point — not because we're being strict, but because it's actually gone.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, name, email, password hash.
- Every document you uploaded.
- Every LMS sync — connection tokens are revoked immediately.
- Your tutor conversation history.
- Your cheat sheets, library packs, and Playground records.
- Your recall and study activity logs.
What we keep, briefly
A short audit log of the deletion itself (so we can prove to regulators that we honored your request) and any invoices that we're legally required to retain for tax reasons. Both are stripped of personally identifying detail beyond what the law requires.
If you also want a refund
Deletion stops future charges. It doesn't automatically refund past ones. If you're owed a refund, request it before you delete — once the account is gone, the request gets harder to verify. See How to request a refund.
Under GDPR / CCPA / similar
If you're exercising a formal data-subject right (right to erasure, right to access), use the dedicated path in GDPR and data requests — it's faster and gets routed to the right team immediately.
