AI Solver by AskSia

Mass Solver: from force, energy, or molar relationships

Type or photograph the problem. AskSia finds mass from Newton's law (m = F/a), from kinetic energy (m = 2*KE/v^2), from gravitational force (W = mg), or from mole counts via molar mass.

Works with word problems, equations, code, and science prompts.

Quick Answer

How do you find mass?

Mass appears in many physics and chemistry contexts. In mechanics, Newton's second law gives m = F/a. In gravitation near Earth, weight W = m*g, so m = W/g. From kinetic energy KE = (1/2)*m*v^2 gives m = 2*KE/v^2. In chemistry, mass = moles * molar mass. In relativity, rest mass is invariant; relativistic mass = gamma * rest mass.

Why AskSia Solver

Why students use AskSia for Mass.

Every step transparent, every answer self-checked.

Context-aware.

Mechanics, gravity, chemistry, relativity, AskSia picks the formula.

Adaptive

F = ma rearrangement.

m = F/a directly when force and acceleration are known.

Mechanics

Weight and gravity.

Weight = m*g. AskSia uses g = 9.8 m/s^2 by default.

Gravity

Chemistry: moles to mass.

Mass = moles * molar mass.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between mass and weight?
Mass is the amount of matter (kg), invariant. Weight is the gravitational force (N), W = m*g, depending on g. On Earth, 10 kg weighs 98 N. On the moon, less because g is smaller.
How does mass relate to inertia?
Mass quantifies inertia: resistance to changes in motion. More massive means more force required to accelerate by the same amount: F = ma. The same object's mass is the same regardless of motion (classically).
What is relativistic mass?
In special relativity, total energy includes rest-mass m_0*c^2 and kinetic energy. At high speeds, effective inertia increases by gamma = 1/sqrt(1 - v^2/c^2). Modern usage keeps m_0 as rest mass with an explicit gamma factor.
How is mass measured in chemistry?
Moles times molar mass. 1 mole of water = 18 g/mol * 1 mol = 18 g. For mass from moles, divide by molar mass. AskSia uses standard molar masses (C 12.01, O 16.00, etc.).
How accurate is AskSia?
AskSia is engineered for accuracy on standard high school and college coursework. Accuracy comes from subject-specialized models, a symbolic verification pass that catches arithmetic errors, and a self-check step that re-derives the answer before showing it to you.
Can I get practice problems and flashcards?
Yes. After any solve, ask Sia to generate similar practice problems at SAT, ACT, AP, IB, or college difficulty, or build a flashcard set on the underlying concept in one tap. Useful for exam prep and spaced repetition before a quiz, midterm, or final.
How much does AskSia cost?
AskSia has a free plan that includes daily solves across all subjects. AskSia Pro and Super include unlimited solves, advanced subjects, the full AI tutor companion, exports, and priority response speed. See pricing for details.
